WHS Advisor Induction

Good advisors are shaped in their first months.

A one-day capability program for people new to the WHS Advisor role. It gives them a working understanding of what the role is for, the difference between activity that protects people and activity that only looks like safety, and the skills to get things done without formal authority.

Why the first months matter.

Most new advisors are handed forms, registers and induction slides on day one. An advisor who learns early to ask what a form actually protects, and to go and look at the work rather than the record of it, is worth more to a site than one who processes paperwork faster.

It shapes the role

Most advisors learn the job from whatever the last person did. The habits they form in the first months tend to last.

Built on your own material

Activities use two or three of your own real forms and your own safety principles, not generic examples.

Followed up at 90 days

Each participant leaves with a written action plan, and we check in with them on it three months later.

What the day covers.

What a safety role is for, and how to tell activity that reduces real risk from activity that only demonstrates compliance.

Influence without authority: humble inquiry, coaching, and holding a firm view through a hard conversation with a supervisor or a subcontractor.

How people judge risk, the gap between work as written and work as done, and assurance that checks the thing rather than the record.

Not a training course

We don't sell training hours.

This program exists because the way an advisor learns the role decides how much of their time goes into protecting people. It is foundation-level: not legislation, and not a walkthrough of your systems. Tell us how many new advisors you are bringing on and when, and we will say whether it is the right fit.
